This station is the last part of what some friends and Pastor friends are calling my (possible) FINAL legacy. Well, I don't know about that, but I'm flattered and Blessed. It has not been an easy road putting together two oldies stations, plus two oldies Internet stations (seperate) and two Christian stations plus consulting a couple of more. To be honest it has made me mental some days putting it all together, and is only JESUS that kept me from going over the edge (losing it) crazy, although, many still say I am Hahahahh!

I pray that this station is a green light here in Campbell River, British Columbia. I tried to start a new Christian FM station here in Campbell River in 2003, but, did not have all my i's dotted or t's crossed. But, after $5,000.00 for the application (non-refundable) and being turned down by the CRTC (press here for the CRTC decision back in 2003) It was also to be called Spirit FM as well and was CHVI "Christ Has Vancouver Island" 88.7 on the FM dial. Well I didn't get it and through past attacks and so on I just stopped trying and said enough is enough!!!

Well here I am helping my friend and fellow Pastor Terry Somerville put together the Spirit FM I couldn't, am I nuts? Yes but what's your point? People that know me know that so move on Hahaha! I believe this whole island and where we live here in Campbell River, needs a Christian radio station desperately, just like Lethbridge Alberta did. So here I go again!

I must admit every challenge is a CHALLENGE alright. If anyone would like to read a little of the Lethbridge Spirit FM God and I owned from Dec. 13th 2000 to Sept 1st 2006 then press this link to read, see pictures and promotions of then old Spirit 97 FM etc.

As of March 12th, 2010 - Our chief engineer Roger De Brabant has finished ICAN (Industry Canada) application, and the CRTC application. We have answered most (or all) of the CRTC questions needed. Some about Total Chnage and their charities licence (Corporation), and Roger (chief engineer) all the techy questions, and myself, I have answered all the programming and music questions. SO now the ball is rolling and we are in what I call the 2nd stage of our application as it is fully official now. We are even on the CRTC web site now so that really makes it official - Now we need Intercessory prayer warriors. People that will pray each day different times per day, example, nurses going to work at the hospital 3AM etc.We pray Father that the CRTC will grant our licence.

We're not sure but doubt whether the other local stations in Campbell River B.C. Vista Broadcast Group or Jim Pattison Broadcast Ltd. will do up any negative interventions towards us, but it is still possible. Here's why we don't believe they will - After starting Spirit 97 FM in Lethbridge we had two of the top power stations in Canada, Roger's and Pattison which did not do any negative interventions against us, do you know why? Because it would not look good in the communities eyes two big conglomerates going up against the Christian community for a small 28 watt Christian station.

Many succesful promotions in most cities are done and steered by the Christian community, and this would look totally bullish if they did this. It would be a disater for them both against a small 28 watt LOW POWER FM statiion (non-profit) coming to town so that we can let Christians hear their music 24-7. The biggest negative in this area is the fact they have three local stations here all playing heavy rock. So if they dared to do this negative intervention against us the Christian community would not look favourably towards them whatsoever. So they would be committing radio suicide to do this 150%. One major promotion for the poor at Christmas was done by the Vista Broadcast Group and 99.7 The River here and from what I heard it was mainly due to the Christian community that was behind it, so this would not happen and be good for them in any way shape or form if they went up against us.

What about YOU! Can you be of help? Yes, as a matter of fact you can. We will soon let you know when you can send in positive but short intervention e-mails and letters to the Secretary General of the CRTC in support of Spirit FM. This will help about 80% showing here and it's a ton of support for this low power FM Christian staion for our area. We will let you know by letter, newspaper & e-mail and post it to www.spirit-fm.ca (decision) www.spiritfmhistory.ca (decision) plus www.totalchange.org and Faithbuilder Int. at www.faithbuilder.ws (decision).
